ATTENDANCE

Attendance with a paper:
Those who would want to contribute with a paper should send the full paper (prepared according to the Symposium formatting rules) together with the application form to the Symposium Steering Committee no later than December 30th, 2008. The formatting rules can be found on the Symposium web page. A payment of 30 EU will be charged for papers printed in the Symposium proceedings book.

Attendance without a paper:
Those attending the Symposium without a paper should fill the attached application form and send it to the Symposium Steering Committee by post or e-mail. Companies or institutions can apply as a group sending a list of attendees. Registration fee is 300 EU for regular attendees and 200 EU for students. This fee covers the proceedings book, lunches, cocktails and a gala dinner. The fee for the accompanying person is 250 EU.

TOPICS

The papers which will be accepted for oral presentation should cover the following general areas:

problems faced in the industrial minerals sector and ideas for solutions,
research on mining, preparation, concentration and beneficiation of industrial minerals,
the latest scientific and technological developments in the industrial minerals sector,
problems faced in marketing, import and export of industrial minerals.

The specific topics to be included in the Symposium are listed below. Any work which falls outside these topics can still be presented provided that acceptance is based on the decision of the Symposium Scientific Committee.

mining of industrial minerals, related legislation and regulations,
application of mineral processing to industrial minerals,
planning and production techniques in industrial minerals sector,
construction raw materials (aggregate and cement),
raw materials for chemical and cosmetic industries,
salts,
problems and opportunities arising from globalization,
import and export strategies in industrial minerals sector and a financial outlook.

Language: The languages to be used at the Symposium will be English and Turkish.
